The Time Came to Say Goodbye

It’s not the story we want or like to share, but we know so many of our supporters have been following our Foster Cat Project.

It’s with such heavy hearts that we said goodbye to two of our beautiful foster cats. Alice, the cat that started this project, and Bobby, our handsome chap, were both waved over the rainbow bridge, and have left huge holes in ours and their foster carers’ hearts.

Both Alice and Bobby were such wonderful characters, and it made all our staff and volunteers happy that their foster carers signed up to our Foster Cat Project for their end of life care. It was suggested that both cats were close to the end of their lives due to their ages and ailments when they came into our care, so being able to give them a loving home environment was so important for us here at Animal Welfare (Furness).

The time and love their foster carers gave enabled both Bobby and Alice to live longer, happier lives, and the care they received was second to none.

Foster carers for our elderly and long term poorly cats are so important, to enrich their lives and give them that loving home and care they deserve when the time comes to say goodbye.

We want to extend our biggest sympathies and thank yous to Bobby and Alice’s foster carers, you gave them a home and love when the odds were against them, providing a safe space and ensuring they had the right care for their needs.

We’re so sorry to have lost them, but so happy those final months were ones full of love and happiness.

If you would like to support our Foster Cat Project, or if you feel you have the space and time to become one of our foster carers, visit our Foster Cat page where you can get in touch or donate to this wonderful project.

Until we meet again, goodnight Alice & Bobby x
