We are Animal Welfare Furness
Since the beginning of the Animal Welfare charity, there has been an aim to financially support people and their pets in the Furness area whenever possible. The Welfare Pot Project now officially carries this aim, and in recent years has been heavily utilised to support animals and their families.
The Welfare Pot Project provides financial assistance to those unable to support themselves and their pets in the current cost of living crisis, by offering vouchers to cover unexpected veterinary costs, such as when they fall ill or have an accident. Those who qualify for this help are usually in receipt of benefits such as Universal Credit or are on a low income.
To ensure this project reaches the people in need of our help, we have developed strong relationships with the veterinary practices in the Furness area, so they can work with us and their clients to provide the necessary care for the animals and ensure those in need of our assistance get connected to us.
We speak to those needing the Welfare Pot assistance to ensure we’re doing/giving as much as we can to help them care for their animals. We understand that what was once affordable as a pet owner, could now be a financial struggle and we work hard to keep owners and their pets together whenever possible, relinquishment to us can sometimes be the outcome in some severe cases.
